Another month has passed and another newsletter is here. We are going to deviate from our typical “Merlyn’s Musings” this month for a couple quick points and a fun announcement.
First and foremost we want to thank you. Thank you for your attendance, your friendship, and support. Thank you for the discussions we’ve engaged in, your time, and the wonderful shared experiences we’ve enjoyed. It is truly humbling and exciting all at the same time to consider all that has transpired and anticipate that which is yet to come.
Secondly…our exciting announcement. We are very excited to announce our website is live. www.thecultivatedpatriot.com. We have some content up, but as you will see when navigating it, we have some parts that are still under construction and will be released in the near future. Super exciting! Look to our website for articles, important dates, sign up for our newsletter, and information about our organization. We are excited about the growth and another step forward in creating avenues to engage citizens with more knowledge, resources, and perspective as it pertains to America’s founding, natural law, and the application of both today.
Thirdly, we want to encourage you; you are not alone. Many freedom loving Americans feel ostracized and alone, societal outcasts, and we are here to say to you, you are not alone. We want to encourage you, if you feel ill-equipped to enter into discussion because you lack the exposure or knowledge, you are not alone. We are here to encourage you, if you want to do something but are unsure how or where, you are not alone. Come to one of our events and experience what one guest speaker called “a combination of standup comedy, college level lecture, and Sunday sermon all in one.” Come experience what we are told is a completely unique experience unlike any “freedom group” out there. Come learn about founding documents, pre-founding documents, and the fundamental principles that still apply today. Come meet those that represent you, or hope to represent you from the school board to the statehouse. Ask them questions, start a relationship with them, grant them perspective, and encourage them. Come find where your passions for medical issues, taxes, or firearms fit in. Come find a new candidate to run for city council or state representative, who knows, maybe that candidate is you. Come grow with us and know that you’re not alone.
In closing, the House just passed a bill relating to mandatory parameters pertaining to civics education. I will not speak towards the specifics of the piece of legislation itself in this letter. I will say though, the first two things I always get asked are: 1. “Why didn’t I learn this in school?” and 2. “Why aren’t my children learning this?”…friends, we don’t need a law to force you to learn, and if American civics and fundamental rights are imperative for the children to learn I imagine it should be something the voting public should grasp as well. For 2 hours a month at 3 separate times and locations, we do just that…for free.
